While attending graduate school, Zeke commenced 11 years of service to the citizens of Delaware in the Executive Branch of Delaware State Government. In 1987, he began four years with the Budget Office of Governor Michael N. Castle (R). After obtaining his Master’s Degree in Political Science, Zeke transferred to the Department of Education in 1991 where he implemented Medicaid cost recovery for school-based health services while attending law school at night. After graduating cum laude in 1995, Zeke was selected by Governor Thomas R. Carper (D) to participate in the Governor’s Management Fellows Program where he was privileged to clerk for then President Judge of the Delaware Superior Court, Henry du Pont Ridgely. Upon his admission to the Delaware Bar in 1996, Zeke commenced practicing law under the auspices of the Department of Justice as Administrative Hearing Officer and Special Counsel to the State Board of Education.
Zeke began his private legal practice as a bankruptcy litigation associate with Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP in 1999. He became associated with Bill Sullivan in 2006 and became a founding member of Sullivan · Hazeltine · Allinson LLC in 2008. He is most rewarded by his collaborative relationships with out-of-state counsel, helping to shape strategy and tactics to achieve client objectives.
Zeke has represented a broad array of interested parties in litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings before the Delaware Bankruptcy Court, including debtors (lead counsel), alleged debtors, petitioning creditors, members of creditors’ committees, trustees, trust beneficiaries, executives, government agencies (environmental, taxing authorities), volunteer fire departments, PRP steering committees, utilities, telecommunications funds, insurers, asset purchasers, landlords, reclamation claimants, personal injury and wrongful death claimants, defamation claimants, trade creditors, critical vendors, mechanic’s lienors, molder’s lienors, mortgagors, equipment lessors and financiers, general contractors, subcontractors, and avoidance action plaintiffs/defendants. He has represented commercial interests in litigation and mediation before the U.S. District Court (contract matters, reference withdrawals), Delaware Court of Chancery (corporate dissolution/trusteeship), and Delaware Superior Court (secured lenders, personal guarantee holders, foreclosing mortgagees, structured settlement financiers). Zeke has been appointed arbitrator by the Delaware Court of Common Pleas and has been appointed to Delaware Volunteer Legal Serves by the Delaware Family Court. He also handles appellate matters.
